About Us

Purpose

Uttar Pradesh Association of Australia (UPAA) is a non-profit community based organisation supporting migrants from Uttar Pradesh, India, in assimilating with Australian and Indian values and culture.

Objectives

To bring the Uttar Pradesh community together and maintain the cultural and ethnic values of Uttar Pradesh.
To support the persons of UP state origin residing in Australia to understand the Australian values, become an integral part of the local community and work together to further develop the community through various events.
To work with NGOs globally for the development of the local communities in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of India.
To work with the Australian government to promote the cultural diversity in Australia and India.

Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has registered Uttar Pradesh Association Of Australia (UPAA) Incorporated as a charity with the following subtypes:

Advancing social or public welfare,
Advancing culture
Promoting reconciliation, mutual respect and tolerance between groups of individuals that are in Australia, and
Any other purpose beneficial to the general public that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to, or within the spirit of, any of the purposes.

Dr Santosh Yadav is an Ayurvedic Doctor and very well known in the community .He helped a several members of the Indian community in giving wellness advice whenever required.

As a Founder and Chair of the Uttar Pradesh Association of Australia Inc. (UPAA), he is a committed worker for the community for the in Melbourne area.

Dr Yadav is also president of the Australasian Association of Ayurveda (AAA), year 2016 .Australasian Association of Ayurveda helps promote Ayurveda awareness in the Australia and help and assist the ayurvedic professionals to provide best care and wellness advice.

Dr Yadav also works closely with the Hindu foundation to help in counselling and other health issue to Hindu foundation community members and other Victorian Families in need.

Dr Yadav was also the Organiser “Swami Ramdev Yoga Camp & workshop” in Melbourne April, 2015 to promote “GOOD HEALTH and WELL-BEING” of the people of Australia, through his YOGA Camps in Melbourne. Swami Ramdev is one of the World’s leading and most acclaimed Yoga Masters.

Dr Yadav has received the “Mahatma Gandhi Community Service Award” for the service to the community with Love, care and dedication in the field of Ayurveda. This award was presented by Hindu Foundation Victoria on 30th September, 2012

He has also received “HIND RATTAN AWARD” in 2012 presented every year to selected Non resident Indians for their outstanding services, achievements and contributions presented at the 31st International Congress of NRIs on 25 January 2012 in New Delhi.
